Follow the steps in order to install uwu2x on Windows.

Getting uwu2x

Download the uwu2x Pro extension here. The downloaded file should be in the Downloads folder. Extract it, and open the resulting folder.

Enable PlayerDebugMode

Close After Effects, and run the Add Keys.reg file.

Move "uwu2x-pro" to "extensions" folder

Move the uwu2x-pro folder to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions” or “C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CEP\extensions” if you are on a non-administrator Windows session. If these paths do not exist, you can create one manually.

Create a render template

Make sure that you have a render template that outputs a video, like AVI format (or MP4 if you have AE 2024+). Follow this tutorial if you don’t know how to create one : https://youtu.be/X9ONcSdrL78. uwu2x will ask you to choose one.

Open uwu2x Pro

Finally, start After Effects, and click on Window > Extensions > uwu2x Pro.
